The week of October 2nd through 8th, IFAW and Jane Goodall will join forces to educate pet owners — both young and old — on the proper care of companion animals. I hope that you will  featuring ways that you can help protect your pets from harm, the Ultimate Pet Rescue Action Game and many more fun ways to learn about proper care for your dog or cat.

 Nella settimana dal 2 all'8 ottobre, IFAW e Jane Goodall hanno unito le loro forze per educare i padroni di animali - sia giovani che anziani - ad una appropriata cura dei propri animali. Meanwhile on the Gulf Coast of the United States, IFAW team members have been working hard to rescue the pets families were forced to abandon during Hurricanes Rita and Katrina. We’ve made a lot of progress in the past few weeks but there are still hundreds of pets that need to be rescued, relocated and reunited with their families.

 Nel frattempo, sulle coste del Golfo del Messico, i membri delle squadre di soccorso IFAW stanno lavorando duramente per salvare gli animali che le famiglie sono state costrette ad abbandonare durante gli uragani Rita e Katrina. Abbiamo fatto molti progressi nelle scorse settimane ma ci sono ancora centinaia di animali che devono essere salvati, sistemati in rifugi e riuniti alle loro famiglie.

IFAW is still hard at work on the ground, coordinating with local groups and volunteers to ensure the safety of thousands of lost pets. Of the nearly 1,200 animals that have passed through the temporary shelter at Louisiana State University, only several hundred animals have yet to be reunited with their owners. We see our responsibility as an ongoing commitment, but one that we can’t keep without the generous support of our donors.

 IFAW sta lavorando incessantemente sul campo, coordinando gruppi locali e volontari per assicurare la salvezza a migliaia di animali persi. Dei quasi 1.200 animali che sono stati temporaneamente ospitati all'Università Statale della Lousiana, solo parecchie centinaia si sono riuniti alle loro famiglie. Il nostro è un impegno costante ma non possiamo farcela senza il generoso supporto dei nostri sostenitori.
 
The IFAW-financed “Code 3” truck, a 78' mobile rescue unit, has been a key part of our animal rescue efforts. Code 3 is now in Beaumont, Texas where it has already rescued 73 dogs and cats, 2 horses, and 27 birds from the aftermath of Hurricane Rita. In the month that we’ve been in the region, our workers have met amazing people with incredible stories of courage and compassion. People like Inis Zelaya.

 Il camion di soccorso "Code 3", che è un'unità mobile, ha avuto un ruolo chiave nei nostri salvataggi. Code 3 è ora a Beaumont, in Texas, dove ha già salvato 73 tra cani e gatti, 2 cavalli e 27 uccelli dopo l'uragano Rita.
